Russian Instagram model twins, have been severaly criticised for staging a video which shows them feeding a homeless man.
In the video, the twins are seen feeding sushi to a homeless man, which later turned out to be staged.
The twins named Adelya and Alina Fathheev made the video for taking part in a competition called “We Care” which was organised by an association known as “Youth of Tatarstan” with attractive prizes such as Iphones and PlayStations.
While the video is clearly staged, the homeless man featuring in it is actually homeless. This was confirmed by Local media reports.
The video was shared by Adelya in her Instagram account, where she urges her followers to support homeless people, although she feels homeless cats “are nicer”
” Every day we see people in the street who need help. After all, are we all within our power to pay attention to them? Do not pass by… Yes, homeless cats may be nicer, but people also need our help, support. And we care!”
They received a lot of flak after uploading the apparently staged video.
One person said: “These twins are so divorced from real life that they do not even understand how the poor can be helped.”
Another said: “These hens don’t give a damn about this homeless man, they wanted to get an iPhone, not help a person.”
A third added: “So much hypocrisy in these forty two seconds.”
The Twins seem financially stable and this stunt might have been done to garner publicity rather than the greed of winning attractive prizes.
Whatever may have been the motive, it was still a really mean thing to do.
